To explain our answer we should first know what does RAM do in the phone. when we open application and switches to another application then the first application remains in the memory of RAM so that when we open it then it will not launch from the start it will open where will left it. So it keeps the application in the background. It doesn't close it. The more Ram the more application can be stored in the RAM so that whenever we need it it will just start from there. If we talk about the iPhone 11 they only provide 4 GB of RAM. But the performance is very good there is no lag in the phone and apps will keep open in the background.
Today companies are launching 12 GB of RAM in their phone. This is all because to attract customer towards their phone due to competition in the market.
If you are a heavy gaming user even 8GB of RAM is more than sufficient for you. Today 6gb of Ram handles most of the high end games simultaneously.
If you are a moderate user 4GB of RAM is enough for you. But if you are a gamer go for 6gb or 8GB variant.
Android is making their operating system even for low end RAM devices.
Android Go which can be run in 1 GB of RAM. Google knows that they have a lot of customer who uses low and RAM devices. But the company provides smoother experience even 1 GB of RAM phone. Android go has its own application for example camera Go maps go photos go etc.
You can go for the 12 GB of RAM if your users are very high and you don't want to kill the application you started.
